Membership to the NCACP
 
 



The NCACP offers three membership categories:

  • Active-Voting Members - Any N.C. sworn, full-time, salaried Chief of Police of any municipality, any county, or any UNC-system campus law enforcement agency.
  • Associate Non-Voting Members - The Association by majority vote of the Board of Directors may grant associate membership to any individual or organization that is dedicated to the advancement of the objects of the Association. Associate members shall not hold office or have voting privileges.

  • Life Members - The Board of Directors may consider, upon their retirement from law enforcement, any prior Active-Voting Members of the Association for Life Membership, who by continuous faithful service, have served and honorably contributed to the well being and the success of the Association.

Membership Issues:

Newly appointed chiefs of police who have not previously been members of the NCACP, may join the association at any time after their appointment. These prorated dues are applicable only to new members. Current or prior members must remit $100, regardless of when their dues are submitted. A prorated membership fee for newly appointed chiefs will be available on the following schedule based on date of application:
